The 6th of July

After our trip to Kerrville, Kyle and I drove to DFW for the weekend.  Josh and Carrie put together a little Independence Day party at their house in Dallas.  We joked that it was a 6th of July party!  Josh went above and beyond to make the get together PERFECT for all of the kids.  He bought an awesome pool, bought the kids firecrackers, had sidewalk chalk and bubbles, and grilled burgers, chicken and hotdogs!

The guest list included some pretty cute kiddos!

SAYLOR GRAE

ABIGAIL

KINSLEY

The kids had a blast in the pool!  It was definitely the hit of the party.

And they loved the popping firecrackers.  Lane would throw them down with a serious look on his face and then just crack up!

More poppers, Trey!

Abby and Aaron brought their blow up bounce house.

And we brought a slip-n-slide!  I'm telling you, it was a kiddie paradise!

Abigail looked so cute in her American flag bow!

We stayed the night at Josh and Carrie's, and Josh went to get us donuts for breakfast the next morning.  Thank you for such a fun time Biscuit and Carrie!!!!

Fun at the Ranch!

We woke up on the 4th and headed down to the main house for breakfast.  The rest of the day was spent outside having fun!

Beck was the only one brave enough to ride a horse.  Lane said he was "too scared."

Lane loved wearing this cowboy hat he found and carried around the pool noodle for his "lasso."

We took a ride on the jeep to see some of the other parts of the ranch.  Lane liked the chicken coop a lot!  Notice his boots...he refused to take them off the entire time we were there!  He also tried to wear them all of the following week after we got home!

He found one lonely egg!

A cowboy needs to clean his boots after a day of work!

Having a snack back in the house.  Beck is wishing Lane would share that banana!

I found these sunglasses at the Gap that were perfect for July 4th!

Such a cool dude!

Mr. Beck!

Beck borrowed one of Lane's red, white, and blue swim outfits from when he was little.

We spent the afternoon swimming in the pool!  It was a little chilly, but Lane had a great time.

I got a Lifeproof case for my iphone, which claims to be waterproof.  I was brave enough to try it out and got some good pictures!  Lane wouldn't put his face in, so I had to settle for leg shots.  :-)  I loved his patriotic swim trunks!

We had lots of fun with this blow up bat and ball set that I found in the dollar section of Target.

We had one tired boy after he got out of the pool!  He snuggled up with me for a good while and I loved it!

After nap we headed back up to our guest house.  Lane relaxed a little on the porch swing before we went in to take showers and clean up before dinner.

Little cowboy and his silkies.

Dressed to impress, ready for dinner!  I had some cute Converse for him to wear this night but, no.  Boots only.

Dinner is served!  Thanks Collin for the delicious burgers!  Plus beans, grilled corn, and mac n' cheese. Mmmm!
