St. Paddy's Celebration

On Saturday, March 15th, Josh and Carrie had a family friendly St. Paddy's Day celebration at their house in Dallas.  They live really close to lower Greenville where all of the action usually is, and they went ALL OUT for this party!  All the kids had goodie bags, there were food and drinks a plenty, a bounce house, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles for the kids, and my favorite part--a crawfish boil!

We all sported our green!  Even me with my big, green, 36 weeks pregnant belly!

Our cute leprechaun!

The weather was not ideal--lots of rain and humidity, but we made the best of it!  I felt so badly for Josh and Carrie because people were going in and out with muddy, wet feet and their poor floors and rugs were taking a beating.  I finally just took Lane's shoes off and rolled his pants up, and he still went through 3 pairs of pants and 2 shirts while we were there because of the mud and rain.

He loved jumping in the bounce house!

Playing with sidewalk chalk

And he loved the bubbles in his gift bag from Carrie!

Lane was pretty intrigued by the crawfish!  Josh showed him the claws and let one pinch his own finger so Lane could see.  As he was saying "It doesn't hurt" that thing clamped on and drew blood from poor Josh's finger.  Lol!

They can't pinch any more!!  Josh did a fantastic job on the boil.  I have only had crawfish one other time and liked it, but this time I loved it!  The potatoes and corn were so tasty and the crawfish were really well seasoned.  Well done, Biscuit!

Daddy and Lane

There were quite a few other children there, but Lane had the most fun with Saylor Grae.  She is Abby and Aaron's daughter.  (Carrie went to high school with Abby and Aaron.)

They are only a few months apart and get along really well.  He played with her at Gage's birthday party in February and back in July for the Bays' 4th of July party.  They are so cute together!

One last pic before this guy fell asleep and we headed home!

A big thanks to the Bays for their awesome hospitality!  We had a great time!

Butterflies!!!

The last Friday of Spring Break, mom and I decided to take Lane to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens to the butterfly exhibit.  We stopped off for donuts on the way and Lane was excited to see this horse outside the shop.  He took a quick morning ride before we hit the road!

We got to the butterfly conservatory and after some strict instructions from the lady at the door about not touching them, watching your step, etc., we were able to go in and see the beautiful butterflies!  Lane got all worried and thought he was in trouble while the lady was explaining all the rules.  Silly boy!

My little butterfly explorer, ready to find some butterflies!

Found one!

We had a pamphlet that showed all of the types of butterflies in the conservatory, and Lane had fun pointing them all out!

We saw a ton of these "Owl Butterflies."

I had a good time breaking out my photography skills with my camera on all of the pretty butterflies!

There were butterflies everywhere!  Lane thought it was neat to see them "licking" the fruit out of the hanging bowls.

Me and my boy!

An adorable grin!  He was posing by the black and white butterfly to the left of his head.

Sweet talking his new friend!

Mums and her little bud

I tried for one more picture of us on my phone to send Kyle, and Lane was over pictures by then!

We stopped by the gift store on the way out and found this cool chair!

Mums let Lane pick a souvenir and he chose a tube of plastic butterflies.  He has always loved little collectibles and toys with small pieces!

After leaving the exhibit, we met Kori and Evin at Schlotzky's for lunch.  Lane was excited to see Evin, and as usual, kept having to get up out of his seat to go kiss her and tell her hi throughout the meal.  I hope he loves his little sis as much as he loves his cousin!

Thank you, Mums for the fun day out!

Spring Break'n

Lane's birthday party fell the first weekend of Spring Break, so the Snowdens were able to stay for a long weekend.  Lane loved having them there!  We did a little bit of shopping, let the kids play outside, and were able to eat at Babe's one night.  Evin's party was scheduled for the following weekend, and that week was my last week of "allowed travel" by my doctor, so Lane and I decided to stay the whole week.

Mason showed Lane some games on his tablet

Marley and Lane read some bedtime stories with Kyle

I found Lane laying like this on Kyle's head one morning.  He loves when his Daddy gets to come to Mansfield!

Kyle went back to Austin for the work week, so Lane facetimed with him most nights to tell him about his day!

The rest of the week we kept busy with errands and playtime!  Lane always loves a trip to Lowe's!

Playing in the mirrors with my TWO kids :-)

Lane loves when he gets to see Evin!  And the feeling is definitely mutual!

One afternoon, Mums decided to clean her windows.  Lane LOVED helping out!  He thought it was so fun to spray the Windex and stand on a step ladder.

The weather was fairly chilly most of Spring Break, but we were able to get out and enjoy the sunshine some.  Lane got some new bubbles from Mitch's mom, Linette that he had fun with!

Kori and Mitch were there, and Lane was being a bit of a showoff.  He was soaking wet with bubble solution, and was dancing and singing "Thrift Shop."  Never a dull moment with this one!

Eating some of Mums' Mac N Cheese off of my old Lambchop TV tray.  Kori and I loved eating off of that thing when we were little!

One day that week, we were able to meet Claire for lunch at one of Lane's favorite places--Black Eyed Pea.  I am sooo sad I forgot to take any pictures for the blog.  Perhaps the reason I forgot was that it ended up being somewhat of a chaotic lunch!  First, Lane was inhaling the bread they bring you and ended up puking 3 rolls and half a glass of milk all over his plate.  He was completely fine after, just ate too fast.  Then, the older gentleman behind me started going off on our waiter and started cursing loudly.  Of course, I had to turn around and say something!  Finally, Lane must have gotten a second wind after the barfing incident, because the rest of the lunch he was pretty wound up and silly acting!  Despite the craziness, we had a really good time and were glad to spend time with Gran!  Lane went and played at Gran and Pops' house a couple times and we also went out for a family dinner at Outback with them one night.

The last weekend of Spring Break was packed with other fun stuff that I am saving for separate posts!
