Fun at the Fire Station

We headed to Mansfield for Memorial Day Weekend.  There was a lot going on there that weekend and the following mom's birthday, our friend's baby was due any day, and we were throwing Mom a retirement party.  That Saturday, Kyle and I took Lane to visit Reed Churman at his fire station in Duncanville.  We knew Lane would love it!

Lane was a little slow to warm up to the big trucks, but once he did he was super excited!  Reed showed him some of the tools and explained what each part of the truck did.

He loved pushing the "buttons."

He finally decided to climb on in after a minute or two of being "too scared."

And he LOVED it!!

Within seconds of being in that seat, a loud beeping began on the intercoms and a dispatcher alerted that there was a structure fire to get to.  This was Lane's face while the beeping was happening!  Haha!

So, down he hopped and our field trip was cut short.  :-(
We rushed back out front to watch the truck drive away.

Lane talked all day about his trip to the fire station and kept saying, "The firemen had to go to a construction fire (structure fire)."  We will have to go back again for a longer visit soon!
