Dino Lane

Lane has recently become obsessed with dinosaurs.  He started watching a TV show on Nick Jr. called Dino Dan.  It has real actors but the dinosaurs that appear are digital images.  I have started taping it for him because it comes on every day during his nap time.  He gets so excited to watch it when he wakes up and will even watch re-runs.  

I have been continuing to go to the moms meet-up groups and try to go to 1 or 2 a week.  When I saw that there was a scheduled meet-up at a Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek, I knew Lane would love it!  It was about a 40 min drive towards Bastrop last Monday.  Only one other mom showed up, but it was still fun and we pretty much had the place to ourselves!  Lane loved seeing his favorite dinosaurs and calling out their names.  He took his dinosaur figurines along and would carry them up to the big statues to "show them." 

I should have taken pictures of each plaque because I don't remember half of these dinosaur's names!!

After walking through the trail twice, Lane picked out a t-shirt and a stuffed triceratops from the gift shop, and we stopped by Panda Express (one of his faves) for lunch on the way home.  We had a great time!

Manly Man

Gotta play catch-up here!  We have been busy, busy lately with trips to see family and lots of fall fun!  When I sat down to write this post I realized that Lane's activities last weekend all made him seem so BIG!  He lived it up big boy style...

Mr. Coots started his Saturday morning with a light soccer practice.

He then went to the Home Depot kids workshop for a little wood-working with his old man.  This was so fun and we couldn't believe it was completely free!  He got a cute little apron, a pin, and a kit to make a wooden firetruck.  They had all the supplies out on the table and he thoroughly enjoyed it!

Later that night, Lane decided to hit up the college tailgating scene.  Daddy was going to the game and Josh and Carrie were coming in town to go.  We took Lane with us to hang out before the game started, and I took him home shortly after.

2ND HAIRCUT AT COOL CUTS FOR KIDS - MUNCHING ON  A SUCKER

GOT TO PICK A MOVIE - CHOSE DORA, THEN GOT TOO SCARED OF SWIPER THE FOX AND ASKED FOR IT TO BE TURNED OFF!

 JUST GOT A BIT OF A TRIM THIS TIME.  WAS A LITTLE MORE APPREHENSIVE AND SQUIRMY THAN HIS FIRST HAIRCUT, BUT DID OK.

 MET UP WITH A MOM'S GROUP AT AN INDOOR PLAYGROUND CALLED LOCOMOTION.  IT HAD TOYS TO PLAY WITH AND BOUNCE HOUSES.  LANE HAD A BLAST AND SMILED THE ENTIRE TIME!

MOMMY SNUCK AWAY THURSDAY NIGHT FOR A WINE TASTING AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE.  DADDY STAYED HOME WITH LANE!  IT WAS NICE TO MEET SOME NEW PEOPLE AND HANG OUT WITHOUT KIDDOS.

WE TASTED 4 DIFFERENT WINES AND TRIED ALL KINDS OF OILS AND VINEGARS WITH BREAD.  PLUS FRUIT, CHEESE, AND SALAMI.  YUM!
