Picture Day

Lane's preschool had picture day way back at the end of October.  It took a while to get the images back to view, so I am just now getting the copies!  Even though it was a couple short months ago, I can already tell he has grown and his face looks so young here!  I was really happy with how they turned out.  I have pictures I have taken of him that are competitive to these in quality, but I was just so glad to see that he smiled for a complete stranger and really let his personality shine through!  The first one is my favorite.

And now...a walk down memory Lane.  I think anything would have been an improvement from last year's picture day fiasco!  haha!!  He has grown soooo much--physically and socially!

Chip

After our night at Prairie Lights and our fun trip to Grapevine, we woke up Saturday morning at my mom's house and were getting ready to take Lane to Gran's for the day to play.  He was playing in the living room, mom was in the kitchen, and I was in the bedroom getting ready.  We all of a sudden heard a scream and mom called me in saying he had hit his mouth.  I immediately scooped him up and rushed to the bathroom.  There was no blood, so I wasn't sure where he hit, but I pulled back his lip and my heart dropped.  He had chipped his front tooth!  It didn't look bad enough to be loose and there was no gum damage, so I was relieved about that.

He was sitting on his knees looking at a music box at the coffee table and we think he must have slipped and bumped the tooth on the stone top of the table or was possibly resting his teeth on the tabletop.  He told us "I was just looking at that football music thing and then I bit the table!"  Poor guy!

He was pretty upset saying it hurt and I think my reaction made it worse on him.  I don't know why it bothered me so much, but it did.  I knew his smile wouldn't be the same and he will have a chipped front tooth until the thing falls out when he's in grade school.  But....he is ok and that is all that matters!

He makes me think of the little teacup named Chip on Beauty and the Beast  :)

I took him to the dentist when we got back to Austin and he said it will be just fine.  He didn't think it was bad enough to do any nerve damage to turn the tooth gray or dark, and he even said that most likely it will even itself out in the coming years as he grows.  Made me feel so much better!

So, without further ado....here is our handsome boy and his new smile:

Still handsome as ever--and you can hardly even tell!!

An Eventful Weekend

I am behind on posts!  A few weekends ago we made a trip to Mansfield for some fun!  Kyle had a work event Friday night, so Lane and I drove in after he got out of school on Thursday, and we went to Grand Prairie Lights that night.  Mom, Claire, Kori and Mitch came with us and it was a good time, just like last year!  Since it was a Thursday night it wasn't too crowded and Lane enjoyed being free from his carseat while we drove through the light displays.  We stopped and got out half way through to eat and ride the carousel.  I was so mad I forgot my camera at home.  Had to rely on the iphone cam, so the pics are pretty crummy.  :(

Lane is SUCH a picky eater and is usually really unpredictable.  I was shocked when he scarfed down most of this giant corn dog!

He loved riding the carousel--chose a giraffe this time!

He begged to ride it again and wanted Gran to ride the "sled" with him.  I was laughing that he chose the boring bench until I found out he thought it was a sled.

Checking out the lights in the front seat with Mums

Such a happy guy!

Sweet boy traveled back and forth from front to back of my car!  He was more into that than the lights I think!

Friday morning we headed to Grapevine to meet Brittany and baby Beck for lunch and some shopping.  After we ate we walked through some shops and then let Lane run around this really cute Christmas area full of decorations and scenes.  Beck was SO good and never even left his carseat, sleeping peacefully the whole time.  We got some good pics of the boys and even a few cute ones of us ladies.  :)

Lane loved holding onto Beck's carrier and singing to him!  He was very animated and sang Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  Then finished off the medley with the ever popular Wheels on the Bus!

Brittany and Beck headed back home for feeding and naptime, and I walked Lane over to the train station to play on the trains.  I got some really good pics of my little elf!

Our weekend was going great until the next morning.......................{see next post.}

Yee Haw!

Last Tuesday was "Cowboy Day" at Lane's school.  I had bought him some cowboy boots in San Angelo over Thanksgiving that were going to be a Christmas gift, but we had to whip them out early!  He looked adorable!  I accidentally left my camera in Kyle's car, so I had to manage with my iphone--and I took a ton of pics.  :)

Started off a little sleepy!

Pics by the playground after school

Kori came to Austin for a night to do some shopping and hang out before she starts her sub jobs.  We had fun shopping and going to lunch, and she was able to go with me to drop off and pick up Lane that day.

That afternoon I was doing some things in the living room and heard Lane calmly say "help, mommy." I looked over and he was balancing in this position!  The chair had tipped back and LUCKILY hit and stopped against the wall behind it.  Never a dull moment with this cowpoke!
