Big Family Fun!

The weekend before Halloween was a fun one!  We had set plans for every day and had lots of fun.  Friday night we had family movie night in the media room.  Lane even requested popcorn, which he usually won't eat.  He scarfed down his bowl while we watched Robin Hood, one of Daddy's childhood favorites!  Lane loved certain parts, especially the theme song, and made it through the whole movie, despite getting a little stir crazy at the end.

Saturday morning was t-ball.  I know all of my t-ball pictures probably look the same, but I can't help but document each game!!  I think Lane looks so cute in his uniform and I don't want to miss anything!

Happy guy on 2nd base!

 Look at that power!

After t-ball I used my souvenir from Kyle's trip to New Orleans.  He helped me make beignets with Cafe Du Monde's mix.  I have never fried anything before, so I was shocked that they turned out right.  They were really tasty!

Taking a big, sugary bite!

Saturday afternoon we headed to the Hill Country Galleria for their trick or treat event.  It is an outdoor shopping mall that had stores passing out candy.  Lane got lots of compliments on his knight costume!

We went home for Lane's nap and then went to Doc's Backyard to watch the Texas/TCU game.  We had never been there before, and had a good time until the rain delay.  It is an outdoor restaurant with a playground attached, so Lane had fun playing while Daddy got to watch the game.

On Sunday, Kyle got a wild hair to bake homemade cookies and BBQ Ribs.  Random!  I got to go get a prenatal massage, so Kyle took Lane to the store to get ingredients and they got to work cooking up a delicious dinner.  I caught them dancing in the kitchen when I got home from my massage!

It was a fun weekend leading up to a fun Halloween week!

soccer, a movie, and bats...oh my!

We started our weekend off by taking Lane to his first movie in a theater on Friday night.  Kyle met us after work at Alamo Drafthouse after work to see Finding Nemo in 3D.  Alamo Drafthouse is right down the street from us and is just like Studio Movie Grill.  They serve food and have lots of space to spread out.

The movie was really cool in 3D, but our strong willed child refused to wear his 3D glasses, so to him it probably looked a little fuzzy.  We are proud to say that he made it through the whole movie!  We ordered Lane a kids cheese pizza and he munched on that, then Kyle and I split a sandwich that came with fries, so he ate some of those too!  He started getting a little restless, so we took a bathroom break and got him some Reeces Pieces.  An unhealthy night, but you gotta do what you gotta do!  He was into the movie at times and would shout out things like "no!" when the shark was coming and he chimed in with Nemo when he was looking for his dad yelling "Daaad!"  At one point he randomly started saying his preschool prayer that they do before they eat..."God our father, God our father, bless this food...."
And at the very end he said REALLY loudly, "they're ALLLL the way under the water!"

At least it was a kid movie and it wasn't too crowded because nobody seemed to mind.

READY FOR THE SHOW WITH A BEVERAGE AND HIS BOOSTER SEAT.
NO 3D GLASSES ARE GOING ON THAT HARD HEAD!

Saturday morning was soccer again.  Something I want Lane to enjoy so badly, but he wasn't quite feeling it again this week.  It was an improvement from last week, and he still wasn't the worst in the class...which is a plus for me. He had moments where he refused to do things and didn't follow directions, but times where he did ok.  He will miss soccer next week because we will be out of town for a birthday party, so maybe a week off will do him some good and he will be ready to go next time!

ONLY 4 KIDS THERE THIS TIME

THERE HE GOES!

HE SHOOTS....

HE SCORES!!!

BROKE OUT THE BRAZIL JERSEY THAT ROSS BROUGHT HIM!

Saturday night we decided to go for a walk around Town Lake.  We walked the trail for a while and ended up deciding to stick around the Congress bridge to see the bats.  We waited (for a while) and finally, out they came.  By the time they flew out Lane was kinda over it and he said "those just look like birds."  So we headed back to the car and finished off the night at La Madeline.
