Mother's Day Weekend 2013

Since we had been to DFW so often in the past month, we ended up staying in Austin for Mother's Day.  I hated being away from my mom, Kyle's mom, and the newest mom in our family--Kori, but we had a fun family weekend and got to see them all shortly after.

Lane came home from school on Friday with some sweet gifts he made for me!  I got...a flower pot with a rock ladybug he painted, and a footprint butterfly.  So very sweet!

On Saturday we went to Top Golf.  I had never been and Kyle knew Lane and I would love it.  It was so much fun!

It is basically a fancy driving range that keeps track of your ball, and you earn points for hitting your ball into certain areas.  A computer keeps track of your score, just like in bowling.  It is 3 stories tall, and the higher you go, the easier it is.  We were on the 2nd level.

LANE!!

Lane loved it!  We had our own table, so in between swings he would sit and munch on snacks and play games on our phones.  :)  It isn't a place where he can run around since we were on the 2nd story and people were swinging clubs all around us, so we had to keep him contained!

Too busy for a picture with Mom

A little better.  Haha!

Being silly!

So happy to be watching Daddy hit while enjoying his cheese and crackers!

On Sunday I was showered with thoughtful gifts from Kyle and Lane.  An 'All About Mom' questionnaire, a coffee mug hand painted by Lane, beautiful flowers, and 2 new books that will be perfect for housing the funny and brilliant things Lane says!

**I may or may not have printed out the All About My Mom sheet, handed it to Kyle and said "Have Lane fill this out."  :)

Here's a close-up of the form.  The boy was pretty spot-on, except for the part about loving cooking. haha!  And on the favorite food part-- if by 'chicken' he meant Chick-Fil-A, then he is correct on that one!!

We spent the day at home, playing games and lounging around.  That night we went to dinner in Lakeway at Iguana Grill.  It is a Mexican food place that overlooks Lake Travis.  The water was low, but it was still a pretty view and a fun place to sit outside and eat!

Lane took this picture with my phone!  Talented!

Lane refused a nap that day and was a little "off" at dinner.  He had a fun time running around with another little boy at the table next to us, but by the time our food came he was grouchy and tired.  Look at that pitiful face!

Of course, he passed out on the ride home!

And even though it was Mother's Day, he decided to wake up while we tried to change him into his jammies and throw a major fit!

BUT, even in times when he is a stinker--and those times are getting more and more frequent as he breezes through his 3's--I am so proud to be his Mommy!  He makes almost every day feel like Mother's Day by saying "I love you" multiple times a day, telling me I'm his "favorite girl," and saying "You're the best Mommy ever!"  I'm so thankful for him!

A Fun Weekend!

Alright...I am finally caught up to May, but it is now May 31, and I still have the whole month to re-cap!  One of these days I will be up to date again!

The first weekend of May, the Snowden's came to Mansfield to visit and see Evin.  Tiffany and Kathy had met her, but the kids and Ryan hadn't yet.  We planned some fun things while they were here and we had a good visit.

The kids played outside the first night they came.  They get along surprisingly well!  Lane thinks Mason is really cool!

Mitch joined in the soccer fun!

Cousin dog-pile!

Pretty, Marley!

The next morning some of us ventured out to Lego Land at Grapevine Mills Mall.  Tiffany and I took the kids while the rest of the crew stayed behind with Evin, and Ryan walked around Bass Pro Shops after he dropped us off.

Ready for the 3D video!

These two weren't old enough to ride the cars, so we hung out while Mason did.  Marley was in a great mood, and Lane was mad because he couldn't ride.

There goes Mason!

Building with Legos in the Lego room

Concentration!

The little ones loved the slide as we were leaving!

Lane built a Lego car and raced it down the ramp.

Lego Dirk!

Marley is a huge bug lover and had a great time finding roly-polies in Mums' backyard.  She's such a cute little tomboy in these pictures, but is a girly girl the rest of the time!

That night, Kyle came in town from Austin to take Lane to the Ranger Game!  We had to wake him up from his nap so Kyle could take him, and he was in a grumpy mood.

Kyle sent me this picture--looks like he's in better spirits now!  He enjoyed a hot dog---without the meat, ice cream, and a pretzel.  He also needed to poop while they were there, which led Kyle to an unpleasant adventure!  Taking a 3 year old into a men's restroom at a baseball game is evidently not ideal!

Before the crew left on Sunday morning, we went to Cedar Hill State Park to take some family pictures of them with Kathy.  I took a few of Lane before we left.  They remind me of school pictures in front of a backdrop!

Everyone got in some cuddling with Evin, and then they hit the road for San Angelo!

We had a fun visit!
