June is here!

The months are flying by!  I am still trying to get caught up on the blog, but can't seem to get there!  The first weekend of June we were back in Mansfield for one of Kyle's former co-worker's weddings.  Friday night I got to babysit Evin while Mitch and Kori went to the Ranger game!  Lane loves her so much.  He talks to her, plays with her, and still loves to pat her head.

Evin looked so cute in her little dress, so I changed Lane and attempted  to get a cute picture of them together.  Little E was still too small to really make eye contact with the camera, and Lane wasn't the best at holding her up!  They are still pretty cute, though!

Mums got a puppy dog cookie bouquet as a retirement present and shared with Lane and me!

Already sharing his Lego's with his baby cousin!

The next night, we went to Dallas for the wedding.  Kyle and I barely knew anyone there, but we still managed to have a good time!  The wedding was at a church in Preston Hollow, and the reception was at the Dallas Arboretum.  It was so gorgeous!  We enjoyed dressing up and going out sans the kiddo!  Mums kept Lane and we were able to get a hotel room for the night.  Kyle used some leftover Starwood Hotel points from when he was traveling for work and we crashed at the W after the wedding!

The next day, we took our first dip in Mums' pool.  It was still a little chilly, but Lane had a great time!  I got some cute shots of him while he splashed and played outside.

So many sweet faces!

Flower Child

My mom has the most beautiful hydrangeas in her backyard.  My grandpa had put a potted hydrangea plant by my grandmother's grave, and it didn't do well and was close to dying.  My dad took it and planted it in our flowerbed back when I was in high school and every year it blooms and blooms and is just so pretty!  I have pictures of me that my mom took when I was in high school by the blooms, and I was happy to get some good pictures of Lane in front of that very same plant!  He was in quite the good mood and I got some cute/silly pictures of our little character!

The picture on the left is him showing his "sweet eyes."  He blinks them and squints them and makes this funny smile.  This kid is goofy!!

Sweet Baby Girls

Our friends Josh and Carrie and Trey and Tara were both expecting baby girls just a couple weeks apart.  On Memorial Day we got word that Josh and Carrie's baby was born!   Just 2 days later on May 29, Trey and Tara had their baby girl!  I was able to go see both of them on the same day at their hospitals.

1st stop...Dallas Presbyterian Hospital to meet Abigail Jayne Bays.  She was so sweet!  I ended up being the only visitor there at that time, and Carrie was being discharged that afternoon.  We had a little mini photo shoot because Abigail was being so cooperative!  We changed out her outfit a couple times, tried out some different headbands and bows, and even took a few family pics!

So alert!  Wearing the same dress her Mommy went home from the hospital in!

That evening I went up to Methodist Mansfield where Tara was to meet Kinsley Rose Taylor.  She was born 2 weeks early and weighed about the same as Lane did when he was born.  Definitely took me back to 3 years ago with my tiny boy!

She loves her Mommy!  I only got to hold her for a short time before she wanted back in Tara's arms.

Such beautiful babies!  I'm totally ready for a daughter now!  ;-)

We also got to do some loving on Evin that day!  I almost couldn't stand all the baby girl sweetness!  And combine a cute baby girl with my cute boy.....oh my goodness!

Happy Birthday Mums and We Miss You Papa John!

May 26, 2013 was Mums' birthday!  We were already in town for Memorial Day Weekend, so it worked out for us to spend the day with her and go out to eat to celebrate that night.  We tried a new Mexican restaurant in Mansfield called Mama Cucas.

Lane and Mums--all smiles in the front yard!

I took some pictures of this happy girl!  I just love Evin Kate smiles!

Lane got Mums a card that played music when you opened it.  He did a little dance while it played!  haha!

TWINS!

The day after Mom's birthday was the 7th anniversary of my dad's passing.  We always said we wanted his grandkids to call him Papa John.  Kori and I bought shirts online from Old Navy for the kids to wear to remember him that day.  We were upset that they weren't delivered on time, but Lane proudly wore his a few days later.  We love and miss you Papa John!!

That morning, Kyle had a tee time at Mansfield National to play golf with Reed.  Lane and I tagged along at the beginning and hit some balls at the driving Range.  Papa John was a great golfer and I know he would have been so proud of Lane and his golfing skills!

The cutest little golfer you ever did see!

After golfing, Lane and Evin took a little nap together.  I love this shot of him being so sweet to her!
